Job Description:

FierceMarkets, a Questex LLC company and a leader in B2B digital media, is seeking a Director, Audience Development based in its Washington, DC office, to lead its audience development strategy and execution plan across its diverse set of industry verticals including Beauty & Wellness, Hospitality & Travel, Bar & Nightclub, Life Sciences, Healthcare, Telecommunications, and Technology. 

The Director, Audience Development will be responsible for leading the creation of audience development growth strategies and tactical plans to build brand awareness, drive traffic, and gain new subscribers for the company’s print and digital publications, as well as support efforts to drive attendance to its global events. This position will also support the content marketing and ad operations teams in managing the audience database, being responsible for database hygiene and appending, as well as segmentation and analysis of subscribers and registrants. 

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of digital marketing strategies and tactics as it relates to acquisition and engagement, including email marketing, search engine marketing, social media marketing, website and landing page optimization, multimedia marketing, and more. Prior experience with marketing automation software is a big plus, in particular Marketo. 

Responsibilities: 
•    Develop an audience growth and acquisition strategy across traditional and digital platforms for each of the industry verticals
•    Implement traffic-building campaigns through various digital marketing channels  
•    Optimize landing pages to drive conversions
•    Oversee the execution and management of advertising on paid search and paid social ad platforms such as Google, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and ad network display campaigns 
•    Use analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of audience growth strategies and identify user trends; make recommendations on segmentation, profiling and engagement
•    Manage the audience database, maintaining a high level of database hygiene
•    Manage third party media partnerships and barter agreements to drive audience growth
•    Lead an audience development team of 5 direct reports

Qualifications: 
•    Bachelor's degree required (BA/BS), major in business or marketing preferred 
•    Minimum of 6-8 years of professional experience in B2B marketing, with a concentration on new customer acquisition 
•    Strong understanding of digital marketing tactics and channels, and best practices to optimize performance
•    Experience with gaining new customers or attendees through offline marketing channels like telemarketing and tradeshows and events desired
•    Prior experience with enterprise level marketing automation platforms like Marketo or Eloqua a big plus
•    Excellent attention to detail is essential; must be metrics-driven and results-oriented with demonstrated analytical skills and organization
•    Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required
•    Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team
•    Willing and able to adjust to changing demands and shifting priorities; grace under fire a must with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
•    Strong leadership and people management skills and experience
