FierceMarkets, a B2B online media company based in Washington, D.C., that covers industries including biotech, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and telecommunications, has an immediate opening for a full-time Production Editor.
We're looking for an editor who can combine meticulous copyediting skills with the ability to take on broader production tasks. In addition to writing headlines and editing stories for grammar and style, you’ll build special reports, edit and package video, and publish via our websites, newsletters and social channels.
Among your responsibilities:
Make sure our stories are clean of spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors.
Work with the production team to build and ship newsletters.
Work closely with our expert writers to package their content in a compelling way, whether it’s a written special report, video, podcast or a multimedia package combining several elements.
Help research and set standards for presenting news online.
Collaborate with our Content Marketing team on editorially driven advanced products.
Qualifications and skills:
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Degree in journalism/communications (print, web or broadcast) or English.
Strong copyediting ability. (You will need to take a copyediting test!)
Knowledge of AP style.
Video and audio editing experience.
Familiarity with a content management system. Basic understanding of SEO, HTML and photo editing software is a bonus.
